My Story

From the shop floor to the sales lot — here's who I really am

Arby Arbogast

Hi, I’m Justin “Arby” Arbogast—known to most folks in northern Utah as Arby the Car Guy.

As a Floor Manager at Wasatch Front Kia in Ogden, I help families find the right vehicle—whether it’s a new hybrid, plug-in hybrid, full electric, or a reliable pre-owned ride.

My journey to the sales floor has been anything but traditional, but every chapter has reinforced the same core purpose: showing up for people when they need help most.

Roots in the Shop

I grew up in Utah, surrounded by tools, engines, and the hands-on world of cars. My bio dad taught me early what real mechanical grit looks like—he handled every repair himself. I spent countless hours helping him with brake jobs, starter swaps, and whatever else the vehicle threw at us.

At the same time, my stepdad and uncles owned auto shops. Between both sides of my family, I had full run of the tools and plenty of junkyard project cars. We “Frankensteined” so many vehicles together that the memories blur into one big greasy adventure.

One moment that still hits me hard: after COVID took away my sense of smell for about six months, I walked back into the shop one ordinary day and caught that unmistakable whiff of grease, oil, and metal. In that instant, my world felt complete again. That “shop smell” isn’t just nostalgia — it’s wired into who I am.

From Firefighter to Helping People

That love of fixing things and solving problems carried me into the Weber County Sheriff’s Explorers program, then into a career as a firefighter. Most of our calls were medical. Those experiences sharpened my ability to stay calm under pressure and focus entirely on helping someone through their toughest moment.

Later I worked at Medsource repairing medical equipment — oxygen concentrators, power wheelchairs, and mobility aids. The best part was seeing the direct, life-changing impact: helping people regain independence and mobility.

Full Circle Back to Cars

When corporate red tape started getting in the way of actually helping people, I made the decision to come back to cars — where I started at Wasatch Front Kia in the service department. The familiar smells and sounds instantly felt like home.

Before long, the dealership moved me into sales, where I’ve thrived ever since. Today I’ve helped thousands of families across the United States find their perfect vehicle — including shipping cars nationwide and flying clients in.

I’m not here to push a sale. I’m here to listen to your story, match your family’s real needs and budget, and deliver a transparent, no-pressure experience.

What Matters Most

At the heart of everything I do are my wife Tifany and our four kids — Skyeli, Okalynn, Kyler, and Ellie. Our dogs Harliegh, Hazel have been constant companions.

They’re the reason I push so hard — to provide for them, create more time for family adventures like camping, and build a life centered on what truly matters.

Whether you’re local or coming from across the country, if you’re ready for honest guidance and a genuinely helpful experience, I’d love to earn your trust.

Come see me at Wasatch Front Kia.
Let’s find the ride that fits your life, your family, and your future.

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about my journey.
I can’t wait to be part of yours.
